Last push for UBCO golf team

Heat golfers holding a fundraiser May 28 to try field a team for the next PACWEST season

In a last ditch effort to save the program, the UBC Okanagan Heat golf team will be hosting a fundraiser on Sunday, May 28 at MichaelBrook Ranch Golf Course.

Heat golfers needs to come up with $40,000 to field a team for the 2017-18 PACWEST competitive season.

The Heat team, which has already raised $16,000, lost its funding from the university earlier this year.

‘Battle of the Valley 2’ will run from 7 to 9 p.m., and will include a variety of wine tastes from the valley, a silent auction table with lots of golf passes to bid on, along with raffle tickets featuring the first prize of golf at the Shaugnessy Golf and Country Club.

There will also be a putting contest, chip into a boat contest, 50/50 draw and a key lock game.

Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased in advance at MichaelBrook Ranch Golf Course or by calling Cheryl at 250-863- 4883.
