The B.C. Hockey League club announced the signings of forwards Trevor Fidler and Ayden McDonald, along with d-man Liam Feeney, for the upcoming season.

Fidler, a native of Watertown, Mass., played last season for the South Shore Kings of the USPHL, where he scored seven goals and added 21 assists for 28 points in 33 games with the Kings. Prior to last season, he was a teammate of Feeney’s at Dexter Prep School in Brookline, Mass.

“Trevor is a player I have been recruiting for a couple of years,” said Vipers head coach and general manager Jason Williamson. “I believe he will be able to come in and make an immediate impact on our lineup. He plays a lot bigger than his size and has the ability to put up great numbers in our league.”

Feeney, who hails from Foxboro Mass., played last season for Dexter (stats unavailable), and was captain of the team.

Called by Williamson “a very steady defenceman,” Feeney was a teammate of former Viper Mark Hamilton.

“Liam is very solid in all aspects of the game,” said Williamson. “He will be able to log minutes in all situations and will be a very reliable player for us.”

McDonald, from Langley, played last season for the Richmond Sockeyes of the Pacific Junior Hockey League, helping the Sockeyes reach the championship final.

He scored 26 goals and added 17 assists in 41 games for the Sockeyes.

“Ayden is a big power forward that has a knack for scoring goals,” said Williamson. “Ayden will bring good size to our lineup. He was a player I got to watch several times last season and got better each time I saw him play. He has a very bright future with us.”

The trio will be in Vernon for the start of the Vipers’ training camp Aug. 29.
