Lawn bowl club changes with the season

Parksville Lawn Bowling Club announces lineup of winter activities open to the public

Another season of outdoor lawn bowling in the books, but don’t expect the Parksville Lawn Bowling Club to simply shut its doors for the off-season. Beginning this week, the club is offering a variety of activities open to the general public, at a nominal cost, that will run from early October to March.

The fees for each activity are on a drop-in basis, and no club membership is required to take part.

The fall/winter schedule began Monday, Oct. 3 with mahjong. Mahjong nights will continue each Monday at 7 p.m. at $1 per visit.  On Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 12, it’s cribbage time at 1 p.m. Cost is $3 per visit. The ever-popular and challenging bridge games return each Thursday, beginning Oct. 13. Games begin at 1 p.m. and the cost is $3 per visit.

Singles and/or couples are welcome to all activities.

The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club is a fully accessible facility with ample parking and a welcoming atmosphere. The club is located at 149 E. Stanford Ave., behind Stanford Place and across the former Parksville Elementary School.
