Leafs shut out in bronze medal game

The host Nelson Leafs fell 3-0 to Victoria on Sunday in the Cyclone Taylor Cup tournament.

The Nelson Leafs Cyclone Taylor Cup experience came to an end Sunday morning as the Victoria Cougars shut out the host squad 3-0 in the bronze medal game.

The Leafs finished the tournament with a record of 0-2-1.

Nelson, like it has all tournament, had difficulty finding the back of the net. Victoria goalie Connor Beauchamp stopped everything the Leafs fired at him, on his way to being named the game’s MVP.

Brad Rebagliati was named as the Leaf’s MVP. The keeper was busy all game long as Victoria fired  43 shots his way.

Jake Stolz, Robert Zadra and Sam McMullen scored for the Cougars.

At 2:30 Sunday afternoon, the Beaver Valley Nitehawks and the Aldergrove Kodiaks will play for the provincial championship. The game takes place at the NDCC.
