The Leaguers edged defending champion Glory Days to top the A side in the Cowichan Valley Minor Softball League playoffs.
Dylan McKinlay coached the Leaguers past Kevin Kolk’s respected Glory Days team in an intense game that was decided in the bottom of the seventh at Kerry Park last Saturday.
On the B side, the Strokers held off the Weezers to defend their 2016 title. Adam Burnell guided the Strokers to a repeat title as they beat Chad Smith’s first-year Weezers in the final.

Third place in the A bracket went to the Renegades, while the Ducks finished third on the B side. The Renegades were also named the most sportsmanlike team.
“Year after year they have proven to be a courteous, competitive, and fun group both on and off the field,” league spokesperson Tiffany Waters said of the team coached by Tony Whitley.
