Langley Christian School’s Lightning are the B.C. AA senior boys volleyball champions.

The boys won all seven matches to win the B.C. banner. Games were played in Kelowna Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, with 16 teams participating.

The Lightning boys have been playing together for six years now.

“They did a great job of getting ready and made sure they peaked at the right time,” said assistant coach Jesse Zuidhof.

“Their mental game was to play to win and their minds were in the right place, with three things: to enjoy themselves, remember the one who gave them their gifts and to play for their teammates.”

Coached by Aaron Vandenbrink and assistants Jesse Zuidhof and Derek Vandenbrink, the team’s players are Mark Antoniuk, Joel Hansen, Isaiah Dahl, Aiden Kits, Ben Macadam, Levi Vandenbrink, Mitchell Jarvie, Mike Grypma, Eli Tolkamp, Jeremy Hansma, Fran VanWyk and Braden Heppell.
