Young Lightning swimmers found success in the familiar waters of the Johnson-Bentley pool as the Liquid Lightning Swim Club hosted its Winter Jamboree Dec. 8 at the Johnson-Bentley pool. Twenty-two Lightning set 80 personal best times at the fun competition for swimmers who have not yet achieved a sub-four minute time in the 200 metre Individual medley.
Four swimmers notched new sub-four minute 200IM times to qualify to compete in regional meets.
This was Daniella Plaxton`s first swim meet.
Ryan Scott, 13, burned up the pool at his first meet. Scott completed his first 200 IM in 3:18.52 to win the event. Scott also placed first in his 100 and 200 freestyle, 50 and 100 breaststroke, and 50 backstroke events.
Taylor Smith swam in her first swim meet and recorded a time of 3:49.24 in her 200 IM. She also received a first place finish in her 200 back.
Paighton Senger, 13, swam her first 200 IM in 3:57.87 to win the event. Senger also won her 50 back, 100 breast and 200 free.
Diana Trif, 12, also went under that 4:00 marker to be able to swim at regional meets by going a 3:59.05 in her 200 IM beating her previous best time by seven seconds. She also had a first place finish in her 50 free.
Hanna Grover, 10, took 14 seconds off of her 100 back going a 1:46.68. She also had four first place finishes in the 200 IM, 50 free, 100 back and the 200 free.
Lexi Falkingham, 8, finished first in the 50 back and took nine seconds off her 100 IM swimming it in a time of 2:23.13.
Shelbi Jardine, 11, took 12 seconds off to win the 100 back, Jardine also out touched the rest in the 200 back.
Bogdan Khomulenko, 14, took 23 seconds off of his 100 IM to win with a 1:56.10. He also he had first place in 50 free
Elissa Jenkins, 8, won her 100 free and 100 breast and took 13 seconds off of her 50 breast.
Victoria Koehle, 10, had first place finishes in her 100 free and 50 back and took 12 seconds off her 200 IM for a time of 4:03.3.
Angelina Barkley, 11, won her 200 IM and 200 free.
Wesley Donnelly, 8, had first place finishes in his 100 breast, 50 breast and the 100 IM.
Jayden Fierbach, 7, had first place finishes in his 50 free and 100 back. Jenae Fierbach, 7, won the 100 back and took four seconds off of her 100 IM to go a time of 2:23.56.
Samantha Pringle, 10, swam to first place in her 100 breast with a time of 2:02.75. She also swam her first 200 back in a time of 4:03.86.
Ashlinn Salverda, 9, swam her first 200 IM of her career in a time of 4:15.41. She also had a first place finish in 50 breast.
Jackyln Pengilly, 10, swam her first 200 IM going a time of 4:08.57. She took 11 seconds off of her 100 back and 15 seconds off of her 100 breast.
Paige Allan, 9, took six seconds off of her 50 free to go a 52.55. Joel Fierback, 5, took 15 seconds off of his 50 free to swim a time of 1:33.24.
Benjamin Stobel, 8, took 18 seconds off of his 50 free and swam his first ever 100 IM.
Madison Wudrich, 10, took two seconds off of her 50 free going a time of 42.07. She also took six second off of her 200 IM.
Alex Hurd, 8, swam to best times in his 50 free going a 1:09.86 as well as a 1:18.83 in his 50 breast.
