The Kal Tire Lightning brushed back the Global West Mortgages Red Sox 15-2 in the Vernon Mosquito baseball playoff final Monday night at Lakeview Park.

Kalvin Blaeser went 4-for-4 with four runs for the Lightning, who went undefeated in the seven-team playoffs.

Chase Batchelor stroked two hits and drove in four runs, while Stevie Schols tripled and had four RBI and Carter Morris supplied two hits and reached base four times.

Eric Colwell singled and scored once for the Red Sox.

Caden Colmorgen pitched two strikeout innings to jumpstart the Bolts, while Batchelor only allowed one run while fanning three batters in the third and fourth innings. Blaeser only threw 18 pitches in the fifth with 2 strikeouts.

The Red Sox’ Kamrin Lubbers and Maguire Lauridsen pitched the first four innings, allowing just five runs with seven combined strikeouts.

Sheldon Wells had a strong defensive game at second base for the Lightning. It was a pitcher’s duel after four innings with the Bolts ahead 5-1.

A two-out rally in the top of the fifth by Kal Tire was started by a Mattias Isobe walk and finished with a bases-clearing hit by Shaughnessy Barker.

In the sixth, Matthew Hansen led off with a single, Kolton Maloney followed with another base hit and Hudson Bird walked. All three runners scored later in the inning when the Lightning scored six to take home the 2011 championship.

The Bolts were coached by Mark Batchelor, while the Sox were guided by Ross Parsons.

Global West Mortgages clipped the Five Star Awards Tigers 9-8 and edged the Gladiators by the same count to reach the final.

Jaden Parsons and Ryan Gamage pitched for the Red Sox versus the Tigers.

The Red Sox were down by two going into the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded when Caden Bracken smacked a double to left field, knocking in two runs.

Pitchers for the Red Sox were Ben Kalashnikoff, Lubbers, Lauridsen and Parsons.
