Lincoln bowlers roll big

Vernon won the prestigious aggregate award at the 69th B.C. Interior Fivpin Bowling Championships.

Thanks to the efforts of all three of its teams, Vernon won the prestigious aggregate award at the 69th B.C. Interior Fivpin Bowling Championships.

The event, featuring 20 teams, ran for two days with 10 teams bowling at Lincoln Lanes and 10 at Capri Valley Lanes in Kelowna on the first day. Teams bowled in the opposite house on day two.

Four games are bowled by the women’s, men’s and mixed teams each day.

Vernon’s women’s, men’s and mixed teams’ scores added up to 28,818, good for the aggregate honour.

The Vernon ladies, consisting of Yvonne Walker, Ashley Snow, Sam Steil, Jessy Buchanan and Ashley Krause, won with an eight-game total of 9,222.

Walker placed first on the all-star team with a 274.5 average over eight games. She also won awards for a 360 single and a 1,269 block, the highest for the ladies side.

Snow placed third on the all-star team with a 243.13 average, and won the high block for all rookies with a 1.033.

The women also had the highest team single for the tournament with a 1,312 total.

The Vernon women and men’s teams combined for the mixed . The men’s team consisted of Matt Eisenhauer, Art Block, Braydon Lutgen, Trevor Rachwalski, Lyle Rachwalski and Dan DeBoer.

The Vernon mixed team won the eight-game event with a total of 9,824, and also bowled the highest single of the tournament with a 1,430 team total.

Buchanan was second on the mixed all-star team with a 258.84 average, and Walker was third, averaging 254.67.

Eisenhauer placed second on the men’s all-star team with a 270.5 average.
