Lincoln Lanes ladies roll eighth place

Lincoln Lanes hosts National Classified Provincial Bowling Championships.

Host Lincoln Lanes rolled eighth place in the women’s division at the National Classified Provincial Bowling Championships last Saturday.

The Vernon fivesome of Tawnya Johnson, Susie Kosenko, Kathy Pasjack, Kara Kazimer and Sue Beugling scored a five-game 4,619.

Teams from Port Coquitlam, Kamloops and Nanaimo finished one-two-three respectively.

At the men’s championships Saturday in Kelowna, the Lincoln Lanes fivesome of Doug Collingwood, Ed Heichert, Al Berg, Mike Adams and Dan Deboer compiled a five-game 4,947 to rank ninth. Teams from Kamloops, Nanaimo and Vancouver topped the podium.

Meanwhile, the Bowling Belles – Lynn Rozinsky, Edel Venus, Marilyn Cain, Alice Rowland and Fran King – delivered first place at the Bert Hill Senior Classic Zone Finals at Lincoln Lanes.

The Belles finished at 173 pins over average in the three game tourney.

The Happy Gang – Eleanor Knox, Darrell Walker, Stan Smith, Diane Smith and Penny Sault – struck silver with 163 pins over average, while the Slow Pokes – Ethel Somers, Verna Siemens, Paul Eberman, Shirley Little and Al Somers – took bronze with 90 pins over average.
