100 Mile House Midget Rec team played hard against Ashcroft at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre on Dec. 10.
They fell 7-2 in their ninth game of the season in the Okanagan Mainline Amateur Hockey Association (OMAHA), says team spokesperson Danielle Menzel.
Ashcroft opened up the scoring about three minutes in to the first period, then followed it up with a second goal about three minutes later.
They netted a third goal in the beginning of the second period.
100 Mile House fended them off after that until they scored their first goal by Nolan Buchi, assisted by Dallas Quintal around four minutes into the second period.
Ashcroft scored their fourth about 10 minutes into the second.
That goal was answered 23 seconds later by 100 Mile’s second goal scored by Cameron Amut and assisted by Alex Glen.
100 Mile House had some excellent chances in the third, but just couldn’t find the net, says Menzel.
The team played hard and despite some good glove saves from 100 Mile’s goalie Terrence Archie, the match ended with Ashcroft winning, she adds.
This is 100 Mile House’s Midget Rec team’s second year in the OMAHA.
Menzel notes 100 Mile House is looking forward to their rematch with Ashcroft on Jan. 8 at 11:15 a.m. at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre.
