Local swimmers excel in Kelowna meet

The Kootenay Swim Club recently competed in the Aquajets Fall Classic Meet on November 24 and 25 in Kelowna.

The Kootenay Swim Club recently competed in the Aquajets Fall Classic Meet on November 24 and 25 in Kelowna.

Nine swimmers travelled and did very well at the event.

“The team swam very well and raced hard and posted excellent results,” said head coach Tom Carew. “Everyone swam at least one best time at the meet.”

The following swimmers all had excellent performances: Cyan Ross-Van Mierlo 200M IM; Lauren Klenk, 200M free; Rachael teBulte, 200M free; Hannah Devries, 200M fly; Gabrielle Hanvold, 200M fly; Maneet Natt, 200M breast; Niallan Collier, 200M free; Tenysha Ross-Van Mierlo, 400M IM; and Riley Mager, 800M free.

The swimmers are now busy preparing for the December 14-16 competition in Kamloops, which is the last big meet for the club before the Christmas break.
