A trio of South Cariboo soccer players helped the U12 Williams Lake Storm to a silver-medal finish recently at the Chilliwack Youth Soccer Tournament.

Masen Fernandes, Kean Kellermeier and Reid Davidson, whose home club is the 100 Mile House & District Soccer Association (OMHSA), were invited to play with the Williams Lake team.

While eight-aside is normally their game, the South Cariboo boys played 11-aside for the tournament, and contributed to the 3-1-0 result.

According to Lisa Davidson, OMHSA boys U13 coach, goaltender Kellermeier was strong in net throughout the entire weekend, making some spectacular saves.

Fernandes and Reid were also responsible for setting up several of the Williams Lake goals, she adds.

“All three boys were happy with the results and benefited from the experience of joining this team, which they often play against in the Cariboo Youth Soccer League.”
