The Boston Pizza Junior Triathlon attracted 89 athletes on July 18.
The largest age group was 12-13, which had 22 participants and was won by Jaxon Slaney of Kelowna, who completed the course in 34 minutes and nine seconds. The top male in that group was Summerland’s Heming Sola, finishing in 34:20. The second largest age group was 8-9 with 20 participants. Ottawa’s Abigail Armstrong won in 26:19 as she topped Penticton’s Jesse Buchanan, who came in at 25:12.
The six to seven year old age group, which had 19 participants was won by Ottawa’s Aidan Amstrong in 17:06. He topped Felix Bergeron of Okanagan Falls, who clocked in at 19:07. The top female was Penticton’s Naomi Cornell, who finished in 17:56.
Summerland’s Trae Allen won the 10-11 age group as he crossed the finish line in 25:55. The top female was Cadence Adam of St.Adolphe, Man., who came in at 32:29. Riley Thompson of Okanagan Falls won the 14-15 age group in 44:39.
Haley Berrisford took second in 45:20. Kamloops’ Joshua Ogilvie won the draft legal, which had a field of nine. He clocked in at 36:07. Sophie Ogilvie was the top female at third overall in 39:16.
