Logan Yanick of Courtenay finished second in the Junior Boys division of the CN Future Links Western Championship, July 2-4 in Trail.
The 17-year-old Yanick had rounds of 76-70-69 for a one-under 215 and finished four strokes back of winner Trevor Yu of Vancouver (69-71-71) who came in at five-under 211.
The top six competitors in the Junior Boys division of each CN Future Links Championship earn exemptions into the 2014 Canadian Junior Boys Championship, which will be contested July 28 to Aug. 1 on the Legends on the Niagara’s Battlefield course in Niagara Falls, Ont.
