Led by age group winners Sandra MacNaughton and Liz Borrett, Kelowna runners were a conspicuous and competitive bunch at the 2014 edition of the Whistler Half Marathon.
With 22 local runners on the course, MacNaughton captured the women’s 60 to 64 age division in one hour 49 minutes seven seconds, while Borrett showed the way in the women’s 70 and over category in 2:06:16. Borrett also won her age group earlier this spring at the Boston Marathon.
Caroline Raine also had a good run Saturday, finishing second in the women’s 50 to 54 class in 1:47:05.
The first Kelowna competitor to cross the finish line in Whistler was Mark Stafford (M 25-29) in 1:46:32.
