Major Fraser Valley victory follows morning loss in Box Lacrosse

The Fraser River-Delta box lacrosse team didn’t let an early loss to Vancouver Island-Central Coast set the tone for their day.

The Fraser River-Delta (Zone 4) box lacrosse team didn’t let an early loss to Vancouver Island-Central Coast (Zone 6) set the tone for their day. Instead, they racked up their first big win against Cariboo-North East (Zone 8 ), 17-3, in Game Three at the North Surrey Recreation Centre.

The goals came often, and from everyone. Despite a change between the pipes mid-way through the game, Fraser River-Delta proved relentless on their way to victory.

“We had to recover after this morning,” said Fraser River-Delta coach, Baun Adlington. “We had some bad habits that we got out in the first and second, but we’re still trying to gel. We all got thrown together pretty quick.”

For their part, Cariboo-North East (Zone 8) is looking to put the loss behind them.

“All the players are here to have fun,” said coach Tony Degans. “So we’ll take the next game as a new 60 minutes, and change a few things.”

Fraser River-Delta finished the round robin with a 1-1 record, and should advance to the elimination round.
