Mamba Fight Night returns to Abbotsford

Amateur mixed martial arts event debuts at Ag-Rec Building

In just a few weeks, some of B.C.’s best amateur fighters will get in the ring in Abbotsford.

Mamba Fight Night 3, hosted by Abbotsford’s Mamba Martial Arts Academy, returns to the Ag-Rec Building at Abbotsford Exhibition Park on Oct. 22 for a night of action.

The event is sanctioned by the BC Athletic Commission and features local amateurs and youth showcasing multiple martial arts forms.

Styles of fighting represented at the show include jiu jitsu, muay thai and kickboxing.

Several Abbotsford fighters are scheduled to fight on the show including: Gagan Gill, Sheldon Schwartzenberger, Navi Dhaliwal, Elysse Stevenson, Nick McInnes and many more.

There will also be a handful of appearances from notable names in the mixed martial arts community including UFC fighters Kajan Johnson and Shayna Baszler, along with ONE FC Bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes.

Doors open for the event at 5:30 p.m., and the bell is set to ring at 6 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission or $100 for VIP seating. VIP tables for groups of 10 people are available for $1,000.

They can be purchased in advance at Reflex, Nando’s and the Mamba MMA training centre or at the door.

There is a beer zone and food available from Nando’s at the event. Music for the night will be provided by Abbotsford’s own DJ Hark.

Weigh-ins for the event occur at the Station House Pub and Grill on Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

Previous Mamba Fight Night events took place at the Abbotsford Banquet Hall in downtown Abbotsford.

The Mamba Martial Arts Academy, located on South Fraser Way, opened to the public in March 2011.
