This season isn’t even done yet, and the VIU Mariners women’s volleyball team has already qualified for next winter’s national championships. That’s because Vancouver Island University has been selected as host of the 2012 Canadian Colleges’ Athletic Association women’s championships March 8-10, 2012.
“The community is excited to host this event,” said Bruce Hunter, athletic director at VIU, in a press release. “The committee at VIU is already working towards welcoming athletes, coaches and guests to the beautiful city of Nanaimo.”
