Forced to sit out the 2012 Capital One Canada Cup last month in Moose Jaw while recovering from surgery, Kevin Martin will be in Penticton for the Continental Cup Jan. 10 to 13.
Martin described the Continental Cup as a unique event that involves curling under different rules and formats each day.
“The coaches ability to best match up our talent against the opposition makes a huge difference in this event,” he wrote in an email.
Missing the Capital One Canada Cup prevented him from adding to an already impressive resume. Martin is the only skip to win the title four times in the 10-year history of the event. Along with winning gold during the Vancouver Olympics, he earned a silver medal at the Salt Lake City Olympics. He also has 11 appearances at the Brier with four Tankard victory celebrations and a gold medal at the Ford World Men’s Curling Championship as well as numerous titles on the World Curling Tour.
Martin will be joined by John Morris, Marc Kennedy and Ben Hebert.
