MAY DAY MASSACRE — Pistoleras jammer Messy MollyTov (Summer Zawacky) gets taken out by Betties blocker Gold E. Blocks. The Penticton Pistoleras mashed the Black Diamond Betties from Whistler 191-115 in front of a sold out crowd in the Penticton Curling Club on May 10.

The Penticton Pistoleras put on a show for the sold out crowd at the Penticton Curling Club cruising past the Black Diamond Betties 191-115.

The Black Diamond Betties are considered a strong team that served hard hits and powerhouse

jamming giving the Pistoleras a serious challenge.

The Betties started off with a bang and took the lead. The Pistoleras responded to the

pressure with tight walls and solid teamwork from their blockers.

Pistoleras jammer Crasher In The Thigh blasted through the pack and forced the lead change towards

the end of the first period.

The home team kept that lead for the win.

The Penticton Pistoleras welcomed four new players: Crasher In The Thigh, Red Mewes, Billy The

Skid and Stella RydHer.

The Penticton Pistoleras are part of the South Okanagan Roller Derby Association and will be playing

their next home game June 14 against the Revelstoke Derailers. SORDA is always looking for new skaters, refs and volunteers. Visit www.sorda.ca or Facebook pages South Okanagan Roller Derby or Penticton Pistoleras for more info.
