Matt McEachran-Law can now watch golf on his very own LED TV.
The 17-year-old won his second straight Hillview Golf City Junior Championship Monday with a 2-over 58. He won last year with a 61.
There was a field of 41 in the 23rd annual tournament which also serves as the club championship.
McEachran Law recorded nines of 32 and a 3-under 26 to win by five strokes over Russel Day, who took the city 14-17 age group flight.
Tyler Pitt, who went on to play NCAA golf in San Francisco, took the tourney three times in the 1990s, while Jarret McNeal, the 2012 club champion at Spallumcheen, won back-to-back titles in 2004-05.
Brady Stead, a top provincial junior, captured the 2009-10 Hillview trophies. Jake Horsley won the first two tournaments in 1988-89.
PGA Tour regular Chris Baryla was runner-up a few times while winning several age group prizes.
The overall Hillview club king was Mac Gourdine with a 64. He was leading with a 3-over 30 at the turn and battled back from three double-bogeys in a row on the final nine. Gourdine pocketed a seven-inch tablet.
Matt Kreutz was runner-up in the 14-17 division at 64, followed by flight club champion Scott Botwood, with a 71.
Kendra Jones-Munk, 11, won the overall girls crown with an 84.
A playoff was needed in the 12-13 flight with Dexter Weiten defeating Braeden Cooper after they both shot 68. Weiten earned a Nintendo Wii. Nick Cherkowski carded a 71 for runner-up.
Jon Morley topped the 11 and under flight by producing an 81, ahead of Austin Armanini, at 86 and Brayden Beacom, at 89.
Brett Botwood won the nine-hole game with a 53.
Jon Atmore of Hillview praised volunteers Betty Murray and Judy Wakefield for putting in countless hours and Cyril Foster, Lorraine Baryla and VantageOne Credit Union for generous sponsorship.
Meanwhile, freshman Mackenzie Barrie of Vernon shot a career low 76 (+4) in Tuesday’s final round to move up nine spots to finish 50th with 243 (+27) in the Washington State Cougar Cup in Pullman.
Barrie and the University of Wyoming Cowgirls used five solid efforts to overcome the rain and cold weather to remain and finish in eighth of 12 teams on the final day.
Wyoming, which has played 144 holes the last six days, fired a final round 315 (+27) and ended with a three-round total of 944 (+80).
Barrie carded an 86 (+13) in the final round and finished the UNM Dick McGuire Invitational with 248 (+29) on the championship course in Albuquerque the week before.
