Carihi grad Lindsay McLoughlin capped her volleyball career at Vancouver Island University with two wins last weekend.
VIU heads into its final weekend of competition ranked # 1 in Canada with 13 wins and no losses with only one match remaining.
VIU went 3-0 over Douglas Royals which was probably expected last Friday night but a 3-0 win over the Capilano Blues Saturday afternoon was impressive. McLaughlin’s’s volleyball career at VIU was highlighted with a National title in 2008 (undefeated season 23-0), MVP at 2008 Provincials, VIU athlete of the year 2008, 2007 CCAA National Bronze, Provincial Rookie of the year, 2009 Nanaimo Sports Achievement female athlete of the year and much more.
McLoughlin played her final games at home last weekend, she is a fifth year athlete and celebrated prior to Friday’s games with presentations and a slideshow.
