Men’s Club tee’s off in blue or white at Alberni Golf Course

Men's Club Winners from the Sunday, June 12 event at the Alberni Golf Course.

It was a cloudy cool day on Sunday for the Men’s Club event at Alberni Golf Course, but the rain managed to hold off.

In Men’s Club action, the field was split into two categories. You could choose which tee you wanted to use, the white or the blue tees.

The gross winner from the blue tees was Mike Pichor, shooting an impressive 71. Great game, Mike. The net winner from the blue tees was Mark Anderson carding a 71.

From the white tees it was Lloyd Fairley capturing the low gross with a 74. Other gross winners were Craig Acland with 75, followed by Jim Proteau shooting 76.

On the net side from the white tees it was Steve Pointon leading the way with 65, next with net 69 was Gord Unger, followed by Mel Trelvik shooting a 70.

Closest to the pin winners were Steve Pointon on No. 2, Gord Unger on  No. 4 Tyler Ruel on No. 13 and Keith Gauthier on  No. 17.

Money pot winners were Craig Acland collecting $51 for the only birdie on No. 2, Bill Barrett collected $33 for the only birdie on No. 13 and Steve Pointon collected $51 for the only birdie on No. 17.

Just a reminder that there will not be a Men’s Club for three weeks. Next weekend is the West Coast Amateur. There are still many spots left, if you would care to play both Saturday and Sunday.

The following week is the  ladies West Coast Tournament held on Sunday only.
