After slipping past the Sanford and Dillman Hornets 4-2 on June 27, the Shuswap Defenders caught a break, as they advanced to the next round.
They were supposed to play Exeter Sporting Goods for the right to go up against the Red Rock Grill in the championship finals on June 28, but could not field a full squad.
After a lengthy discussion, it was decided there would be a double header on July 3. Shuswap will take on Exeter in the first game to see which squad goes up against Red Rock in the first game of a best-of-three playoff championship series.
Game 2 goes on July 4 and game 3, if necessary, will be played on July 5. Both contests get underway at 7 p.m. at Lumberman’s Park in 100 Mile House.
