The Salmon Arm SilverBacks will have another Mick next B.C. Hockey League season.
SilverBacks’ GM and president, Troy Mick, completed a deal with the Merritt Centennials today for his son, Logan. The Cents, who acquired Mick earlier in the offseason from the Vernon Vipers, receive future considerations.
“First of all, I would like to thank the Merritt organization and Luke Pierce for giving us the opportunity for Logan to play his last year of Junior hockey in Salmon Arm,” said Mick. “The professionalism that they showed in making this happen shows the class of their program.”
Logan Mick will be entering his third year and potentially his last in the BCHL as he is committed to Quinnipiac University Bobcats for the 2015-2016 season.
“We are very excited to announce the addition of Logan Mick to the SilverBacks,” said Salmon Arm head coach Brandon West. “He’s fresh off a great playoff run and expected to play a leadership role on our hockey team. Logan is a talented hockey player that will put you on the edge of your seat with his skill and energy.”
Logan has played 102 BCHL regular-season games and has compiled 11 goals and 23 points.
He was traded to the Centennials by Vernon to complete a deal last fall which saw the Vipers acquire the rights to defenceman Dylan Chanter.
Meanwhile, Vernon’s Kyle Anderson is the new play-by-play man for the West Kelowna Warriors of the BCHL.
“I will be doing all 58 games on the internet while working in media relations and handling the website,” said Anderson, who is currently doing internet play-by-play for the Kelowna Falcons of the Pacific International League.
Anderson, who turns 25 in late July, spent two years as game-day manager for the BCHL Nanaimo Clippers, handling the public address announcing one season. He also did game-day promotions at Vancouver Island University, where he just completed his degree in tourism management
This season, Anderson worked for the Junior B Nanaimo Buccaneers. He did play-by-play on Fast Hockey and was game-day operations manager.
He volunteered in media relations during the Royal Bank Cup in Vernon.
