After a six-year absence, Sicamous Minor Hockey is excited to be fielding a Midget Tier 4 Rep team for the 2012-2013 season.
The team is looking to be a a powerhouse withnine players from Sicamous and five from Revelstoke. Buddy Rich, James Weber and Scott McCuiag are behind the bench sharing their knowledge of the game with the kids.
This past Saturday, the Valley Black Top /Askew’s Foods Junior Eagles hosted their first exhibition game against Princeton with a favourable outcome for Sicamous wining 4 -2.
Lighting up the score sheet was Connor McCuiag with two goals and one assist, Darrien Blight had one goal and two assists, Louie Federico had a goal on the day, with Colby Sherlock and Jesse Fowlie with helpers.
Karter Anderson had a great game in net.
The team played a hard and physical style of hockey.
The team’s regular ice time will be Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with scheduling taking place this weekend.
The Midgets will be hosting their home tournament Thanksgiving weekend with games starting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The team hopes to see lots of locals in the stands cheering on the boys.
