Winning their respective house league playoffs were the Mosquito House champs, The Bosses; the Peewee house champs, The Benchwarmers, while The Crush captured a silver medal at their Bantam Mid-Island League playdowns.

OMB president Mike Parlow also passed on news that TR Doty and Scott Austin were each awarded the Oceanside Minor Baseball scholarship, while Chloe Elston and Nic Wassbauer share the Stanley Chong Umpire scholarship.

“Oceanside Minor Baseball is proud to support our alumni as they strive to achieve their educational goals,” said Parlow, adding each year the association awards the Oceanside Minor Baseball scholarship and the Stanley Chong Senior Umpire scholarship to qualifying players and umpires who will be continuing on to college or university.

In other news, a reminder the Last Raps Baseball Camp for players aged 8-14 goes July 29-Aug.1 at Inouye/Wallace Field up at Springwood Park. Instructors for this camp will feature current UBC Baseball coaches, players, incoming recruits and alumni. The camp will feature skill stations in the morning with special focus on throwing, hitting, fielding and base running.

Campers will be classified first by age and then grouped by ability.
