Oceanside Minor Baseball is extending a call for nominations for its annual Coach of the Year and Umpire of the Year awards.
Over the course of the past season, the coaches have been credited by association officials with putting forward a tremendous amount of dedication and effort for the benefit of Oceanside baseball players. From the rainy and cold days of April, right through the sunny days of July and August and into the fall, those coaches were leading practices, attending clinics, and helping the kids play to their full potential every game, the nomination request states.
The association calls its umpire team the key to the league’s success and deserving of recognition.
“The best umpires conduct the flow of play and step in only as the play dictates. As a result, the good ones are often forgotten, and that should not happen,” OMBA stated in its nomination announcement. These people do nothing less than structure the environment for our players and coaches to succeed on the field.
To nominate a deserving coach, submit the coach’s name and your reasons why he or she deserves this award.
You can also show your appreciation for a job well done and nominate an umpire for the annual award. Again, all that’s required is the umpire’s name and your reasons why he or she deserves this award.
