The Mission Cedar Kings are set to make their home debut in a big way on Saturday afternoon.

The West Central Senior C Lacrosse League team welcomes the two-time defending champion Port Moody Express to the Mission Leisure Centre on Saturday at 2 p.m., the first-ever home game for the team.

The Cedar Kings sit tied for third in WCSCLL action so far this season, with a record of three wins and two losses.

Mission got back to their winning ways on May 6 with a 16-4 thrashing of the Langley Warriors.

The Cedar Kings got four-goal nights from Cody Thompson and John Makowsky, and also had contributions from Gavan Sand (three), Paul Makowsky (two), Tyler Voisey (two) and Brenton Graham. Sand also had a team-high five assists, with Thompson, Paul Makowsky and Voisey also collecting three helpers apiece.

John Makowsky and Sand are now fifth and sixth in the league scoring, with 17 and 15 points respectively.

Mission goalie Jeff Lissmore made 23 saves for the win.

The Cedar Kings’ lone home game of the season kicks off at MLC on Saturday at 2 p.m., and they hit the road for the remainder of the season.

Mission has next week off, but then takes on the Burnaby Lakers in Port Coquitlam on May 27. The team then travels to the Langley Events Centre for games on June 3 and 4 against the North Shore Indians and Langley Warriors respectively.
