Mission Record
The Mission Roadrunners put up a good fight against one of the top-ranked high school football teams in AAA play, but came up a little short in Coquitlam on Friday.
Mission fell 24-13 to the Centennial Secondary Centaurs, who rode a strong start offensively to the win. Mission kept the game close, and got the game to within eight points in the second half, but couldn’t close the gap.
“We are a young team and have been improving every week,” stated Mission head coach Danny Jakobs. “I’m proud that the team played tough all night and battled back from the early deficit.”
Quarterback Hamen Gill threw for 198 yards, including a 26-yard connection to fullback Pavan Kalair. Defensive end Andrew Kang led the defence with nine tackles and a sack while Matt Suicco picked up a pair of sacks. Cornerback Ravi Rai had two interceptions on the night.
Mission falls to a record of 1-3.
