Battlefield Fight League will hold its first-ever mixed martial arts event in Vernon, Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Wesbild Centre.
BFL 10 – WAR, sanctioned by the Vernon Athletic Commission, will be headlined by a middleweight clash between knockout artist Matt Baker and Brazilian Capoeira expert Marcus Vinicios.
In the co-main event, Battlefield star (Ruthless) Ryan Chiappe will take on veteran MMA fighter Marcus Hicks.
Salmon Arm’s Ryan Allen, who trains with Mario Deveault’s Okanagan-Shuswap Gracie Barra crew, is on the amateur card and will go up against Hunter Orgill.
In total, there are 14 tilts scheduled (subject to change) – nine on the pro card, and five on the amateur side.
Pro matchups include Matt Dwyer vs. Levi Alford; Mike Hill vs. Nolan Clark; Chad Belwood vs. Rakan Khatib; Marcus Aurelio vs. Jose Cornejo; Nick Mccuaig vs. Corey Tossof; Darwin Douglas vs. Bill Fraser; and Chris Rock vs. Mark Delgado.
In amateur action it is Cam Deleurme vs. TBA; Kyle Francotti vs. TBA; Corey Kelborn vs. Anthony Foti; and Jonathan Hutchings vs. TBA.
