Donald Fougere of Monte Creek has won Clearwater Rotary Club’s Ice Man fishing derby.
He won the event with a 42 cm kokanee.
The derby was held on Sunday morning, Jan. 28 on Dutch Lake.

The first place winner and his son, Brent Fougere, also of Monte Creek, both limited out during the morning.
“That was a good day,” said Brent Fougere.
They had used pink-dyed krill as bait. Kokanee seem to like the color pink as well as the scent of the krill, he said.
They also used glow hooks that they had charged using a flashlight.
The amount of snow on the ice meant less light in the water, which brought the plankton up closer to the surface.
“We caught most of our fish between 25 and 30 feet,” the younger Fouchere said.
Despite a heavy and continuous fall of snow, about 40 anglers took part in the event.
