The Castelgar Rebels Bantam team are winners of this year’s Penticton Minor Hockey’s 12 team Bantam Tier 3 tournament.
Game 1 vs. Cloverdale: Castlegar 11, Cloverdale 0
Game 2 vs. Mission: Castlegar 6, Mission 0
Game 3 vs. North Shore Winter Club (who at the time was undefeated this year): Castlegar 2, NSWC 2
Game 4 semi final vs. NSWC -rematch: Castlegar 6, NSWC 5 (first loss this year for NSWC)
Finally, the team defeated Coquitlam Chiefs 6-1 in the final which wrapped up Sunday, Oct. 20. Coquitlam were undefeated in round robin play and semis to get them to final.
“Castlegar played extremely well as a team and represented themselves and our community very well. I am proud of the boys,” said Grant Pilla, head coach.
