Alicia Unruh is among the four new recruits who’ve committed to playing for Trinity Western’s women’s basketball team this fall.

Unruh, a 5’7” wing, helped the W.J. Mouat Hawks capture a silver medal at the 2015 B.C. High School AAA Championships.

Unruh finished her high school career with three top-four finishes at the provincial tournament.

“There could not have been a better opportunity for me than TWU; with a higher education, Christ-centered community and a competitive basketball program. I am also looking forward to having the opportunity to go on mission trips. My dream to play basketball at the next level has become a reality and I couldn’t be more excited,” she said.

Paula Thompson, Unruh’s coach at Mouat, added: “Alicia has been one of the hardest working players I have ever coached. She gives 110 per cent both on and off the court. She has always been known for her tenacious defence but this year she has really become an offensive threat. She will be an awesome addition for the Trinity squad as one who inspires her teammates by her incredible work ethic and passion for the game.”
