Five of Mount Baker Secondary’s sports teams were in action across the region this past weekend and they were all impressive.

The two Senior volleyball squads competed in tournaments in Calgary, Alberta against strong competition. The Senior Girls came in second out of four teams, while the Senior Boys came in third.

In the Junior tournaments, the girls came in second overall in Sparwood, BC and the boys were big winners coming in first place in Fernie after defeating teams from Sparwood, Parkland, Laurie, Selkirk and Jaffray.

Meanwhile, the Senior Boys soccer team continued their unbeaten streak with a 9-0 win over Kimberley’s Selkirk Secondary Storm and a 3-0 win over Invermere’s David Thompson Secondary Lakers.

The Senior Girls and Boys volleyball teams will play again this coming weekend (October 7-8) at tournaments in Edmonton, while the soccer team will play a pair of games in Nelson.
