In the story “Trails of Mount Harry Davis temporarily closed,” published in the Houston Today June 7 issue, the Houston Mountain Bike Association (HMBA) and Recreation Sites and Trails B.C. announced on May 17 that the trails were temporarily closed due to saturated soils for the heavy rain fall.

On June 3 Trevor Sowers, member of HMBA, went up to Mount Harry Davis to buck trees and was happy to announce that Broken Spoke, Twisted Metal, and Sticks and Stones have dried up.

As of June 9 due to the recent change in weather, president of the HMBA, Zach Del La Mare, said that whether the trails will be open this weekend or not is still to be determined. “Unsure until the weather clears up at the moment.”

For more information as to when the trails will reopen visit the Houston Mountain Bike Association Facebook page.
