Mount Washington Alpine Resort fully operational

All of the front-side lifts, the Tube Park, 13km of Nordic trails and 3km of snowshoe trails open

Mount Washington Alpine Resort is now open. A blast of 65cm of snow in 24 hours helped create a 113cm base. All of the front-side lifts including the Sunrise lift, the Tube Park, as well as 13km of Nordic trails and 3km of snowshoe, are in operation.

“Forecasts are looking sunny and clear with a bit of snow and temperatures hovering around freezing over the next week,” says Director of Business Operations, Don Sharpe. “It looks like we’re going to get picture-perfect conditions for the rest of the Christmas holidays.”

As a result of the recent snow, the Resort’s Winter Wonderland activities are in full swing. Eugene Chung, Mount Washington’s Event Coordinator, is excited to announce some holiday highlights: “Night skiing is now on until 9pm daily, there’ll be photos with Santa on December 24, and if you dress like an elf on December 25, you can ski for free!” He invites everyone up on the evening of December 26 for the Pepsi Torchlight Parade and Fireworks, and again for New Year’s Eve to enjoy the many events and activities planned for all ages. From December 26 to January 3, there will be an on-mountain shuttle to help you get around the Resort.

According to snowseekers.ca, with the recent snowfalls as of December 21, it has placed Mount Washington in the number one spot for the most snow in the Pacific Northwest over the last 48 hours.
