Mt. Timothy Ski Area is gearing up for its winter opening and the mountain will be providing some new features on Dec. 16.
First, the mountain will feature a newly refurbished lodge interior, says Morgan Day, Mt. Timothy Ski Area Terrain Park and events co-ordinator.
“We’ve refurbished both upstairs and downstairs inside the lodge, although I don’t want to give it up all away. I want to leave some of it as a surprise.”
They have also done significant work outside, especially for the snowboarders.
“We’ve also refurbished the rails and boxes in the Terrain Park. We’ve added new paint and new plywood.”
The Mt. Timothy team is certainly thankful for the new snow, which will allow them to open up as many runs as possible.
This year, they should have all the green and blue runs open for business. As the season progresses, more black runs will also be opened.
Finally, they have hired new cook, Jackie Paul, in their Mt. View Cafeteria. They managed to acquire Jackie from Clancy’s Restaurant in Lac la Hache.
“We’re very happy to have her on board,” says Day.
On opening day, they will continue to be offering their season passes, day passes and their three-for-four voucher program.
Lifts will be running at 9 a.m. and closing around 3:20 p.m.
