Mt. Washington cuts pass prices

Early bird season passes now on sale for popular Island ski resort

Mount Washington Alpine Resort has announced lowered prices on the Alpine and Gold Season Pass products for the upcoming 2015-16 season. Skiers and riders can see savings as much as $300 over last year.

“We did an extensive review of all of our Season Pass products. By simplifying our lineup, we have been able to reduce our rates and increase benefits for our Pass Holders,” said Don Sharpe, Director of Business Operations at Mount Washington Alpine Resort. “With our new rate structure, more people than ever can enjoy the excitement of the mountain.”

Families will also benefit from a new family discount program.

“Mount Washington’s foundation is families,” continues Sharpe.” That is why we have simplified the family discounts to offer greater value. On average alpine families will save hundreds over last year’s rates.”

In addition to lowered prices, the resort’s annual Early Bird Season Pass Sale is now on. “We’re offering up to 36 per cent off regular season rates when you purchase your pass in September,“ said Season Pass Coordinator, Maureen Thompson. “Don’t wait, the Early Bird sale ends at midnight, Sept. 30.”

Included in the Early Bird Sale is Mount Washington’s flagship product, the Gold Pass. This pass offers unlimited seven-day-a-week skiing/riding, night skiing, Nordic skiing, and snowshoeing. “The Gold Pass is the best value out there; your break-even is less than 10 visits,” Thompson adds. “It provides avid skiers with a sense of freedom, to come and go when they want, versus the sense of urgency sometimes felt when skiing on a day ticket. New this year, we have entered into a reciprocal partnership with Revelstoke Mountain, Apex, Manning Park, and Mt. Seymour, to provide our Gold Season Pass Holders with two free lift tickets at each resort – it’s huge value.”

And the 100-day Winter Guarantee returns for the 2015-16 winter season. This program provides Season Pass Holders at Mount Washington a guaranteed 100-day season. If not, the resort credits Pass Holders towards a pass for the following year. “It provides our Pass Holders with peace of mind in their purchase,” said Thompson.

Season Passes can be purchased during the September Island-wide road shows, on- mountain, or online at www.mountwashington.ca.
