PARKSVILLE — From murderball mum Marilyn Hirschfield comes a heads up the 2012 Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament, slated for Richmond, is only weeks away.

Organizers are offering a Canada Cup ‘Beer and Rugby’ prize package consisting of two all-day passes for Saturday, June 23, including the bronze and gold medal games and two complimentary brewskies at the beer garden.

From June 18-23, the Olympic Oval will once again welcome the top wheelchair rugby teams in the world as they do battle in the 2012 Canada Cup International Wheelchair Rugby Tournament.

The Canada Cup is the last stop for these teams before the 2012 London Paralympics so the stakes are high.

Marilyn’s son Trevor, aka T-Bone, a Ballenas Secondary School grad, is a member of the Canadian National Wheelchair Rugby team and will be on the floor in Richmond representing the red and white.
