Mustangs earn fifth at Maple Ridge tournament

The Maggie Mustangs senior boys basketball team picked up one win in three games.

The Maggie Mustangs placed fifth in the Thomas Haney (Maple Ridge) tournament over the weekend.

The Mustangs won one of three games. They opened with a 67-57 loss to tournament runner-up Burnsview. The Mustangs defeated the Mission Roadrunners 56-43 and lost the consolation final to Khalsa 63-50. Prab Chahal was outstanding for the Mustangs, averaging 24 points and five assists per game. Connor Turner put in a strong performance coming off the bench with three blocks a game.

The team next plays Oliver in an important South Zone league game at the Hornet’s nest.
