Mustangs lasso Penticton in Game 1

The Watkin Motors Mustangs iced the Penticton Vees 7-3 in Pee Wee Tier 2 hockey playoff action Friday night.

The Vernon Watkin Motors Mustangs opened their second-round Okanagan Mainline Pee Wee Tier 2 Hockey League Tier 2 playoff series with a 7-3 win over the Penticton Vees Friday night at Priest Valley Arena.

JJ Milne got the Mustangs on the board in the first period by finishing off a beautiful passing play from Austin Roest and Bennett Kuhnlein.

Early in the second, Milne clicked again after another fabulous feed from Roest. After Penticton levelled the score, Jarred Feist put the Vernon up 3-2 on a sweet feed from Erik Pastro, heading into the break.

Bennett Kuhnlein sniped the fourth Mustang goal on another bang-bang play with Roest and Milne.

Jace Weir, Jarred Feist (second) and Roest added snipes to put the Mustangs ahead for good. Austin Seibel, who made a sweet pad save on a breakway late in the third period with Penticton pressing, picked up the win.

Game 2 went Saturday morning in Penticton.
