The Nelson Leafs have made their first trade of the season.
The team announced Wednesday it has acquired defenceman Dylan Rantucci from the Creston Valley Thunder Cats in exchange for forward Taylor Paulovich.
Rantucci, a five-foot-eight, 180-pound Leduc, Alta., native, is in his second KIJHL season.
The 19 year old had seven goals and 19 assists last season with the Thunder Cats, and has posted two goals and four assists in 10 games this season.
Paulovich opened his rookie season by scoring one goal and five assists in nine games with the Leafs.
The Leafs visit Creston Valley on Friday before returning home to play the Osoyoos Coyotes on Saturday.
