Nelson lifts Armstrong

The Armstrong Shamrocks stuffed the Kamloops Rattlers 15-8.

The Armstrong Shamrocks stuffed the Kamloops Rattlers 15-8 in Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League action Friday night at the Nor-Val Sports Centre.

The Rocks grabbed the lead when Lee Black took a major for boarding. Pat Nelson got his first of four and Thomas Belanger scored on the powerplay/

The offence kept on coming as Stu Williamson had a pair and Kas Boudreau one, giving the Rocks a 5-0 after 10 minutes.

Mark Jurista answered for Kamloops on the powerplay, but Kyle Versteeg scored shorthanded, from Boudreau and goalie Chad Pieper.

The Rocks led 6-2 after the first.

Armstrong poured it on in the second with a hat trick from Nelson, two from Boudreau and Belanger, and singles from Brennan Plante and Jamie Cockerill.

The Rattlers chipped away with two from Nathan Woldum, and singles from Curtis McIntosh and Jurista.

That was basically the game as Armstrong led 15-6 after two. The Rattlers added a pair in the third.

The Rocks visit the Kelowna Raiders  Wednesday night.
