Nelson Selects U17 girls squad are coming home from the provincial championships with a bronze medal.
The local squad dominated their final game of the Girls B Cup Provincial Championships in Chilliwack, crushing the host squad 6-1 to finish third in the province.
It was the highest finish of any of the Nelson squads at this year’s tournament.
In other action, the U14 Selects lost its final game 1-0 to the Terrace Kermodes to finish in eighth place.
The U15 girls squad took on the Aldergrove Vipers and lost in a shootout to finish in sixth place.
Nelson’s U13 girls squad battled the RGSA Riot, winning 3-0 to take fifth place.
On the boys side of the tournament in Richmond, the U18 Nelson Selects lost to Terrace Kermodes in a shootout to take sixth place overall in the province.
Meanwhile, the U15 boys Selects battled hard, but fell 3-2 to the RVSA Lightning. The locals finished in sixth.
