Neptunes host 55th annual swim meet

There were more than 400 swimmers and their families in Maple Ridge over the weekend, as the Haney Neptunes hosted their 55th annual meet.

There were more than 400 swimmers and their families in Maple Ridge over the weekend, as the Haney Neptunes hosted their  55th annual swim meet.

Swimmers of all ages, from six to adult, and of all levels of ability, from beginner to elite, took part in the event.

Athletes with the Neptunes are training for up to eight hours per week, and they attend competitions across the Fraser Valley through the summer, to get ready for the provincials.

The summer meets lead up to the BCSSA Provincial Swimming Championships taking place in Coquitlam in mid-August this year.

The next competition for the Neptunes will be in Langley on June 29-30.
