The card for the Jan. 30 Pure Wrestling Association show in Courtenay is starting to take shape.

This week, organizers announced that Campbell River’s Barry Goode (formerly from the Comox Valley) will challenge Lak Siddartha for his Pure Violence Championship title.

Previously announced matches include Riea Von Slasher and Violet vying for the Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship, and PWA B.C. Champion Krofton putting his belt on the line against Ethan HD.

Krofton is extremely possessive about that belt. He has successfully defended his title an amazing 13 times since defeating E.O. Mike Becherer on May 23, 2015 in Port Hardy.

The Courtenay show is a fundraiser for Comox Valley Special Olympics, with the PWA donating partial ticket sales ($1 youth, $2 general, $3 front row) as well as 50 per cent of proceeds to CVSO.

Admission is $20 front row (limited), $15 general admission, $10 youth, with kids five and under free with a paid adult (two kids per adult). K’omoks Band Hall doors open at 7 p.m. with bell time 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are available online at pwacanada.com and on Facebook by contacting Keith Spinks or Eddie Osbourne, and by calling 519-988-8799. Locally, the ducats are available at The Goat FM (201A-910 Fitzgerald Ave.), Weaver Leather (2270 Cliffe Ave. cash only), and Fine Line Embroidery (678 Anderton Rd.).

Also scheduled to show their support for Comox Valley Special Olympics will be special guest Kaos (formerly of the Comox Valley), Campbell River’s  Becherer, Cremator Von Slasher, BJ Laredo, Scott Steel and Super V-Los.
