Another great day of shotgun fun was had by all on Sunday, Oct. 2, with the North Thompson Fish and Game Club. The club is enjoying its popularity, having approximately 100 members, of which about 25 are shotgun enthusiasts.
Sunday’s shoot was held on the proposed club gun range on the Gorman Lake Road. The Club is working with all the various agencies required to secure the land and things are progressing well.
The club has been hosting a variety of events from shotgun shoots to fishing derbies.
Some club members have been raising money by cleaning up for the NT Fall Fair and Provincial Winter Fair. This money has really helped the club to grow. The club has now been able to buy some new equipment and is looking forward to their new gun and archery range.
New members are always welcome. Monthly meetings are held at the NT Volunteer Centre, every third Monday of the month at 7 p.m.
Springtime 2012 will likely bring small bore rifle shooting. The next shotgun shoot this year will be held on Nov. 27, and any level of shooters are welcome. For further information, please contact Ben Thiesen at 250-672-0156.
See you at the shoot!
