No rain July 19 on ladies golf

Tuesday Night Ladies Golf at Chinook Cove Golf by Leslie Stirling

Once again the fair weather girls of golf hit the fairways on Tuesday night, July 19, to enjoy an evening of beautiful weather after a morning of rain.  My biggest fear with Debbie away has been having to make a decision about cancelling Ladies Night because of inclement weather.  Thank goodness I didn’t have to do that this past week.

Flight 1 (Interior Savings Credit Union) winners were Donna Salle, low gross with a score of 46 and Susan Newberry, low net with a score of 49 (35).  Flight 2 (Armour Mountain Office Supplies) winners were Leslie Stirling, low gross with a score of 53 by retro and Jeannie Webber, low net with the same score of 53 (35.5).  Flight 3 (Campbell & Co.) winners were Linda Ransome, low gross with a score of 50 and Deb Winiski, low net with a score of 56 (36.5).  Flight 4 (Stamer Logging) winners were Diane Mykle, low gross with a score of 60 and Margie Hudson, second low gross with a score of 64.

Marvellous Marion Wallace might not have won her flight prizes but she did pick up a number of pin placements.  She had a long drive on Hole 1 (The Blue Jar Coffee Bar & Bistro), a long putt on Hole 3 (Barriere A&W), closest to the 150 marker on Hole 5 (Crystlee’s Hair Design) and a KP in 2 on Hole 7 (Knights Inn).

The lovely Leslie Stirling picked up two prizes from Val Bella Studio (long drive) and Barriere Timber Mart (long putt).  I do realize that I am talking about myself but how can I expect someone to think I am lovely if I don’t think so.

Sassy Susan Newberry had a KP (Carl’s Market Garden) and used the least putts (MJB Lawyers).

Bashful Betty Baillie won prizes from Country Store Antiques (long putt) and Rainer Custom Cutting (closest to the 150 marker on Hole 8).

Dynamic Doreen Landry won the AG Foods prize for a long drive while Snappy Sandy Hultman picked up the Barriere Massage certificate for a long drive as well.  KPs on Hole 4 went to Classy Cori Walker (EBL Ventures) and Dazzling Diane Mykle (Hub International/Chad Belbin).  Incredible Ilke Marais had the only KP on Hole 6 (Royal LePage/Westwin Realty/Cindy Leibel).

The Loquacious Lindsay Arcand had a short drive on Hole 9 (Station House Restaurant).  Okay perhaps I should have used Lovely for Lindsay and Loquacious for me.  The prize from Gift ‘n Gab went to the Valiant Val Aylward.

I just have one more week before the Captain gets back.  Thanks goes to my helpers this week…Teresa Stirling who came all the way from Ottawa to help out, and Donna Salle who is always there to help Deb and I.

Next week is Christmas in July.  Bring on the turkey!
